An exercise in typography as art
This was an exercise for a typography course that I took in 2015. We were tasked with including a word and its definition, then creating the rest of the graphic to exemplify the definition of the word.
I employed the fabulous Colfax typeface in this graphic, created by the Process Type Foundry. (All of the text on this website is also set in Colfax.) In this application, I chose it for its uniquely curved uppercase O, whose shape defies classification — it can’t be called round, or an oval, or a rounded rectangle, or even a superellipse
